Fractional People & Culture Strategy
Senior-level partnership for organizations where the real problem isn't the process — it's the people living inside it.
THE PROBLEM
Your operations look fine on paper. So why does everything still feel so hard?
Most organizational challenges aren't strategy problems. They're people problems wearing a strategy mask.
The friction between departments that never seems to resolve. The change initiative that rolled out perfectly — and still didn't stick. The leadership team that's aligned in meetings and misaligned everywhere else. The culture that worked until it didn't, and nobody can quite explain when it shifted.
These aren't puzzles you can solve with a better process or a new org chart.
They're human dynamics — running like an undercurrent beneath your operations, quietly shaping everything your people do, decide, and resist.
Most organizations don't see them clearly until the cost becomes impossible to ignore.
That's where I come in.
THE OFFER
People & Culture Strategy — at a senior level, without a full-time hire.
I partner with organizations as a fractional People & Culture Strategist — bringing senior-level thinking, deep human understanding, and a cross-functional operator's instincts to the challenges that sit at the intersection of your people and your work.
This is not HR.
I don't handle hiring, firing, compliance, investigations, or HR administration. There are excellent professionals for that work.
My work is different.
I focus on the human side of how your organization actually functions — culture, change, friction, leadership dynamics, and the constant tension between what an organization needs and what its people can realistically give. If people are involved, it's a heart-and-mind problem. And you have to solve for both.
I work with organizations in two ways:
Ongoing Fractional Partnership (retainer) For organizations that need a consistent, embedded strategic presence — someone in your corner month over month, helping you see what's beneath the surface and move forward with greater clarity, trust, and traction.
Project-Based Engagement For organizations navigating a specific transition, culture challenge, or change initiative that needs focused outside expertise with a defined beginning and end.
THE EXPERIENCE
What it's actually like to work with me.
I don't come in with a pre-built answer and a slide deck to justify it.
I come in asking questions — genuinely, not performatively. What are you not seeing? What makes your people hesitant? What have you already tried, and what did it cost you? I seek first to understand, then move to solve — and I build alongside you, not above you.
That matters because good change doesn't get embedded by someone telling you how to do it from a distance. It gets embedded when the people inside the organization are part of building it. My job is to be the kind of partner who makes that possible — someone who deeply understands both the human dynamics at play and the operational reality you're working inside of.
I have been described as a true partner. Someone who brings both warmth and rigor to the room. Someone who genuinely cares what people think and feel — without letting those things become the obstacle.
I geek out on strategy and clear operations. I am also a deeply empathetic person who understands, at a foundational level, why people "people" so inconveniently — and how to work with that reality rather than against it.
That combination is rare. And it's what makes this work actually work.
THE PROOF
I have done this work at scale — before it was my business.
At Toyota Motor North America, I was regularly brought into cross-functional work between teams and divisions that, on the surface, had very little in common — and even less history of collaboration. Sales and marketing. Manufacturing. Functions that operated in parallel for years and saw their work as largely disconnected.
My job was to bring them toward a shared goal anyway.
Every time, I started the same way: by genuinely asking what made people hesitant. What they weren't sure about. What I might be missing. Not as a tactic — but because I actually wanted to know.
And then I connected the work back to what the organization already said it valued. The Toyota Way. People as the greatest asset. Capability building. PDCA. When the path forward is rooted in the organization's own stated values, resistance softens. People don't feel pushed — they feel seen.
Three years after leaving Toyota, a former colleague reached out unprompted to tell me he not only thought I did exceptional work — but that he had always held me in the highest regard as a person.
That's the kind of work I do. And that's the kind of partner I am.
